Side event on the the financial crisis, recession and women

The International Alliance of Women (IAW) is hosting a side event on the financial crisis, the global recession, and women, which will take place in New York City during the 58th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) on 13 March 2014 2:30 pm, UNCC, New York City.

Radhika Balakrishnan, director of the Center for Women’s Global Leadership, Rutgers University and co-author (with Diane Elson) of the book Economic Policy and Human Rights: Holding Governments to Account, on the effects of the economic recession on women, financial institutions, and human rights.

Cephas Lumina, the UN Independent Expert on foreign debt and human rights, on his report on the crisis in Greece.

manganaraJoanna Manganara, President of IAW, on the recession and women in Europe.

margunnInga Jónsdóttir, attorney-at-law, former IAW board member, on the financial crisis in Iceland and its effects on women.
