The International Alliance of Women, as an international women’s organisation working for equality between women and men since 1904, wishes to express its solidarity with women in conflict situations in some Arab countries.
We are deeply concerned with the present situation of turmoil, terrorism and severe violence especially against women and girls. We call on all involved parties to immediately stop all fighting in order to install peace. Let the people – men and women of all ages – be involved in peace negotiations, reconciliation and in building an environment that is conducive to mutual respect and understanding on the basis of the indivisibility of peace, security and human rights.
