Commission on the Status of Women — CSW71 (2027) United Nations Headquarters, New York — March 2027 The 71st session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW71) will take place in March 2027 at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The CSW is the principal global intergovernmental body dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. Each year, the session brings together representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organisations from all regions of the world. The priority theme of CSW71 is: Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As an organisation holding General Consultative Status with ECOSOC, the IAW is accredited to participate in the Commission on the Status of Women and contributes actively to its work through its UN Representatives in New York.
