In a country where daughters are destroyed, gender violence is a part of everyday life, a woman on her own is fair game to a patriarchal society, or even, as in the Nirbhaya case, a woman out in the evening with her boyfriend.

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world.
There is no reason for optimism however; in the draft Agreed Conclusions of CSW 2016, it says that no country has yet achieved gender equality.
So women keep advocating for equality!
Women must have the right to their bodily integrity. Women’s human rights must come before a supposed right for parents to have children. Children always have the right to have parents but there is no human right for parents to have children.
The 2015 report of the Working Group on Discrimination against Women in Law and Practice is a radical accusation against patriarchy. Human Rights Council resolutions – threaten to undermine international achievements in the field of human rights in the name of cultural and religious diversity.
